My story
I've never been someone who takes things at face value. I've always wanted to understand what's underneath: why people respond the way they do, what shapes the patterns we fall into, and how our experiences affect the way we see ourselves and relate to others. That curiosity is a big part of what eventually led me to become a therapist.
I earned my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nyack College and began my clinical work in 2010. I spent twelve years at Redeemer Counseling Services in New York, working with individuals and couples and eventually serving as a clinical supervisor. During that time, I had the opportunity not only to work with clients through many different seasons of life, but also to train and supervise other therapists.
I started Corbo Counseling because I wanted to create a smaller, more personal practice where I could focus on meaningful, in-depth work with the people I serve. My approach is relational and collaborative. I want therapy to be a place where you can be honest about what's going on, better understand yourself and the patterns that keep showing up, and work toward meaningful change.
Outside of therapy, I'm a husband and father of four. My family and I are part of a church community in New Jersey. I enjoy sports, movies, video games, and spending time with my family. I'm also a lifelong New York Jets fan, which has given me plenty of practice with patience and perseverance.
